Clinical Intervention/Psychotherapy

I have enjoyed working with adult clients and their families for the past fifteen years. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches, I use a flexible approach to psychotherapy to meet the unique needs of each individual.

The first step to beginning treatment is to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. The purpose of this consultation is for you to have an opportunity to ask questions and for me to learn more about your concerns. If I feel that your concerns are outside the scope of my expertise, I will work with you to find an appropriate referral. If we mutually decide to move forward together, we will schedule an initial appointment.

The first 1-2 sessions will consist of an initial assessment and planning period. During this time, we will have a chance to explore your presenting concerns in depth and to discuss treatment options. This initial period is also an opportunity for you to evaluate your degree of comfort in working with me, and to determine whether you’d like to move forward with treatment. The initial assessment sessions are charged at the same rate as the psychotherapy treatment sessions.

Treatment begins with a treatment plan that will include an estimated number of sessions needed to meet your goals. Length of treatment length varies depending on the presenting problem, goals, and individual preferences. However, many people find that they start to feel better after only a few sessions because we will immediately begin work to alleviate the symptoms that are causing the most distress.

Please feel free to contact me with additional questions or to schedule a complimentary phone consultation.
